Solana Will Launch Saga Smartphones Next Month
Saga, the Web3-centric smartphone from Solana Labs, is launching on May 8. Pre-ordered devices are already being prepared for shipment.
The phone costs $1,000 and features a 6.67-inch OLED display, two universal rear camera lenses, a fingerprint scanner, and 512 GB of memory. It runs on the Android operating system.
The main feature of the device is the Solana Mobile Stack (SMS), a list of custom add-ons that integrate Web3 functionality into the phone’s hardware and software.
SMS includes advanced security algorithms to ensure digital assets are securely sent, received, exchanged, and stored on the device, allowing it to be used as a hardware wallet.
The Seed Vault protocol is also supported, which stores private keys in a secure enclave, separate from the wallet, applications, and operating system.
