Riot Platforms Files Lawsuit Against Crypto Miner Rhodium Enterprises

Riot Platforms, formerly known as Riot Blockchain, has taken legal action against Texas-based Bitcoin miner Rhodium Enterprises, seeking to recover more than $26 million in unpaid hosting and service fees.

The petition was filed in the Milam County Court in Texas on May 2 and Rhodium was served on May 8, with a response due by May 30.

Riot also requested permission to terminate certain hosting agreements and proposed to be exempt from repaying any outstanding power credits upon cessation.

Although it is too early to estimate the likelihood of recovering the unpaid fees, Riot noted that the litigation is still in its early stages.
