Lazarus Hackers Reportedly Have $42.5M in BTC on Their Wallets

According to analysts at 21.co, North Korean hackers belonging to the Lazarus Group have a combined total of at least $47 million worth of various cryptocurrencies.

This includes $42.5 million in Bitcoin, $1.9 million in ETH, $1.1 million in BNB, and $640,000 in different stablecoins like BUSD.

Despite this large amount, the group does not hold any anonymous coins like Monero, Dash, or Zcash.

The Dune Analytics service tracks 295 wallets that have been linked to this hacker group by the FBI and OFAC.

As of September 6, these wallets held a total of $86 million, with the latest transaction taking place on September 20. However, given that 21.co’s calculations were based on publicly available information, it is likely that the actual assets held by the hackers are significantly higher.

Chainalysis previously estimated that as of September 14, the DPRK hackers had stolen $340.4 million, with a third of this amount coming from just two attacks attributed to Lazarus.
