Circle Officially Renames its Stablecoins

Circle has recently announced that it will be changing the official names of its stablecoins, previously known as USD Coin and Euro Coin, to USDC and EURC.

The new names will be represented by the stablecoin tickers, and the company plans to slowly phase out the old names.

According to Circle, their goal is to promote seamless value exchange and these changes will align with their mission of global economic prosperity.

The company clarified that this rebranding will not affect the existing tokens or their addresses. The stablecoin USDC is issued by the Center consortium, which includes Circle and Coinbase.

It currently holds the second position in the ranking of stablecoins by market capitalization, with a value of $25.7 billion, just behind Tether (USDT).
