Kraken Plans to Offer Stock Trading to Customers
Bloomberg has reported that Kraken will now offer its clients the opportunity to trade shares of companies and ETFs in the US and UK.
The exchange’s securities division will handle this new initiative, for which it has already obtained the necessary approvals from UK regulators.
Additionally, Kraken has applied for a broker-dealer license from FINRA. The launch of stock trading on the exchange is expected to take place in 2024.
This follows the exchange’s $30 million settlement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission in February, and its plans to open its own bank in March. In June, Kraken also announced the launch of its own NFT marketplace.
