Crypto Exchange Bitvavo Gets License in France
Bitvavo, a cryptocurrency exchange based in the Netherlands, has been approved as a digital asset service provider by France’s Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF).
As a result, it will now be able to offer its services to users in France. This approval comes shortly after Bitvavo was granted regulatory permission to operate in Austria, and it has plans to expand to other major European markets.
In a statement, CEO Mark Nuvelstijn expressed excitement about entering the French market and bringing Bitvavo’s consumer-focused services to French users.
The company’s decision to expand into France is also supported by a recent survey conducted by the AMF, which showed that more French investors hold cryptocurrencies (9%) than traditional stocks (7%) or bonds (2%).
