USDT’s Market Cap Close to $93B
In early January, the market supply of USDT reached $92.631 billion. This significant growth in capitalization started in the middle of last year and has continued rapidly.
Interestingly, Tether company’s assets itself are estimated at $95.2 billion, which shows its high solvency as they have excess reserves.
According to Gabor Gurbacs, a strategist at VanEck, USDT’s capitalization was only $100 million in the spring of 2017, but many Wall Street analysts, including Gurbacs, predicted that it would reach $100 billion in the future.
Since the beginning of 2018, its capitalization has increased by 6560%. Tether mainly holds its capital in cash, short-term deposits, and treasury bills.
Currently, the total capitalization of all stablecoins is around $132 billion, which is around 7.2% of the total value of all digital currencies.
