OKX Stops its Services in Uzbekistan

Effective March 30, OKX cryptocurrency exchange will discontinue offering services to users residing in Uzbekistan.

To prevent potential account freezes, it is essential for clients to close all active positions before 00:00 UTC on March 15 and withdraw their assets by 00:00 UTC on March 30.

The exchange has assured the safety of funds until withdrawal.

As a reminder, in January, the government of Uzbekistan fined Binance exchange for operating without a registered legal entity in the country.

After the platform declined to pay a voluntary 102 million soums (~$8,300), the authorities took the matter to court.

Furthermore, starting in April, criminal and administrative penalties will be imposed for any illegal activities related to mining and using cryptocurrencies.
