On February 28, two wallets linked to the coins seized in the Bitfinex hack case were found to have made multiple transfers to unidentified addresses, according to Arkham Intelligence platform.

The first wallet initially transferred 1 BTC, followed by a much larger transaction of 2817 BTC (worth approximately $172.74 million).

The second wallet also made transfers, sending 0.01 BTC and 12,267 BTC (worth approximately $748.46 million).

These transfers occurred during a sharp increase in the price of the first cryptocurrency, which reached a high of $64,000. However, during this time, there was a 30-minute period when the value of the asset dropped from its peak to $59,000.

The Bitfinex hack in August 2016 resulted in the loss of around 120,000 BTC (worth $71.8 million at the time, equivalent to over $5 billion at current rates).

As a result, the platform was forced to suspend operations for a period of time. In May 2020, anonymous individuals sent 30.667192 BTC of stolen funds to unknown addresses.
