Ethereum’s Staking Value Exceeds $117B
Over 31.5 million ETH have been staked by Ethereum validators, currently valued at over $117 billion. This accounts for approximately 26% of the total ETH supply of 120 million coins and a market capitalization of approximately $450 billion.
With the implementation of the fee burning mechanism in October 2022 as part of The Merge update, the total supply of ETH has decreased by 400,700 coins, resulting in a negative inflation rate of -0.33%.
The recent Shapella hard fork in April 2023 allowed for the withdrawal of blocked cryptocurrency, leading to a surge in popularity for Ether staking.
According to Dune, the net inflow of assets into staking since the update has exceeded 11.6 million ETH. Experts from Amberdata view the network’s deflationary policy as a key advantage that may help Ethereum surpass Bitcoin in terms of price growth.
