Eclipse CEO Resigns After Being Accused of Harassment

Layer 2 project Eclipse has announced the appointment of Vijay Chetty as its new CEO, following the resignation of Neil Somani amid allegations of sexual harassment.

“Chetty has over ten years of experience in the crypto industry. He has held leadership positions at Uniswap Labs, dYdX Trading, and Ripple Labs, and also brings investment experience from BlackRock,” the announcement stated.

The leadership change comes just a week after the scandal involving Somani. Multiple community representatives, including Kaito AI business developer Jiu Jun, accused the now former CEO of harassment.

Although Somani has not admitted to the allegations, he chose to “temporarily” step down from his role at Eclipse to protect the company’s reputation.

“I have never sexually assaulted or harassed any woman. This is a serious problem inherent in our industry and society as a whole, and I do not want to minimize it by denying these false accusations,” Somani wrote.
