Crypto Exchange Kraken Says It Will Not Delist Tether in Europe

Kraken has no intentions of removing Tether (USDT) from its platform in Europe despite previous reports of a potential delisting to comply with legal requirements.

According to Mark Greenberg, Kraken’s global head of asset growth and management, the exchange will continue to support USDT and adhere to all legal obligations, even if they may not align with its beliefs.

A May 18 X post confirms that Kraken is actively reviewing its compliance strategy in light of the EU’s upcoming MiCA regulations, but there are no plans to delist tokens like USDT.

However, Marcus Hughes, Kraken’s global head of regulatory strategy, acknowledged that they are preparing for all scenarios and may have to delist certain tokens, such as USDT, depending on the regulations.

The MiCA rules for stablecoins will be implemented on June 30 and will be followed by wider regulations for cryptocurrency service providers on December 30.
