Solana Removes Group of Validator Operators
The Solana Foundation has removed a group of validator operators from its delegation program for engaging in sandwich attacks on traders.
This type of attack involves a trader finding a pending transaction on a chosen network, like Ethereum, and then placing another transaction before and another one after it to manipulate the asset’s price.
By doing this, they can profit from the difference in prices while guaranteeing that retail investors receive the worst possible price.
The identified validator operators were found to be participating in mempools, which enable sandwich attacks, and were subsequently removed based on the Foundation’s rules against malicious activity. As a result, these operators will no longer be given any delegation work in the future.
