Thailand’s Regulator Revokes Zipmex’s Licenses
Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has taken action against cryptocurrency exchange Zipmex after a period of intense regulatory scrutiny.
In a statement released on June 11, the SEC announced that it has revoked two operating licenses held by Zipmex for digital asset exchange and brokerage services in Thailand since May 28.
This decision was made after the SEC ordered Zipmex to halt its services to Thai users in February due to concerns about its financial position and operational efficiency.
Despite this, the finance minister found that Zipmex continued to violate the orders.
As a result of the revocation, the SEC has instructed Zipmex to return assets to its clients or take action based on their requests.
