CleanSpark Buys 7 Bitcoin Mining Sites
CleanSpark announced on Wednesday that they will purchase seven bitcoin mining facilities and accompanying land in Knoxville, Tennessee for a total price of $27.5 million, which equates to roughly $324,000 per megawatt.
The company plans to complete the acquisition and take ownership of the sites by September 25.
Once the latest generation S21 Pro miners are installed, the aggregate operating hashrate of the facilities is expected to reach 5 exahashes per second (EH/s), resulting in a 22% increase for CleanSpark’s current hashrate.
The necessary miners for this expansion will be promptly installed upon the completion of each site, with a combined capacity of 85 megawatts ranging from 10 to 20 megawatts.
