Revolut Will Issue its Own Stablecoin
Revolut, a fintech company based in London that offers cryptocurrency trading services, is planning to introduce its own stablecoin.
Sources have reported that the company, which was valued at $45 billion earlier this year and received a banking license in the UK in July, is making good progress on the stablecoin.
When asked about their plans for the stablecoin, a Revolut representative stated that the company’s focus is on compliance in order to expand its cryptocurrency portfolio and position itself as a trusted platform for the entire crypto community.
Stablecoins are tokens with a value tied to an actual asset, typically government-issued debt, in order to maintain their value.
