Hong Kong Could Approve Staking for Spot Ethereum ETFs
According to Andrew Vranjes, Head of International and VP at Blockdaemon, regulators in Hong Kong are expected to approve the inclusion of staking features in spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) this year.
This is in line with the region’s aim to establish itself as a crypto hub. In collaboration with spot crypto ETF issuers, Blockdaemon is actively developing potential staking solutions and engaging in discussions with local regulators.
Vranjes stated that progress has been made and the feature may be approved within certain parameters. He also mentioned the possibility of a gradual implementation, where accredited investors may have access to the staking feature initially.
Vranjes remains optimistic, citing the active conversations and positive direction of the crypto market.
