Gemini Will Close All Customer Accounts in Canada

Gemini has announced that it will be closing all customer accounts in Canada by December 31, 2024.

The decision was communicated to Canadian users via email on September 30, giving them a 90-day deadline to withdraw their assets from the platform. To facilitate this, the exchange requested users to transfer their assets to an external wallet address.

The email explained that as of December 31, 2024, Gemini will no longer support customer accounts in Canada, with a few exceptions.

This decision comes as the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) recently implemented regulations for crypto exchanges and trading platforms operating in the country.

This move has prompted many top exchanges, such as Binance, Bybit, OKX, dYdX, and Paxos, to also announce their departures from the Canadian market.
