Taiwan Allows Professional Investors to Access Foreign Crypto ETFs

The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) of Taiwan has announced a change in their policy, allowing institutional investors to invest in foreign crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through a re-entrustment process.

This change was declared on Monday, September 30, in guidelines released for companies and investors.

The move comes after months of monitoring developments in the ETF market, particularly in the United States where they were launched earlier this year.

The FSC has been working the Securities Business Association and has deemed crypto ETF investments suitable for institutional clients after considering the potential risks and volatility associated with cryptocurrencies.

However, these investments are only available to professional investors, such as institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals, high-asset clients, and institutional funds, who can oversee the investment on behalf of Taiwanese institutional investors.
