CBOE and NYSE Receive Approval from SEC to List Bitcoin ETF Options

The SEC has approved changes to stock exchange rules that will allow for the listing of options tied to spot bitcoin ETFs.

This will expand the investment opportunities for products that have already seen significant inflows this year.

The SEC memos released on Friday state that the NYSE will be able to list and trade options for the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (BTC), and the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB).

Additionally, Cboe Global Markets has been approved to list and trade options for the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) and the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB).

The decision by the SEC comes after their recent approval of Nasdaq’s proposal to allow options trading on BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT).
