Kraken Will Close its NFT Marketplace

Kraken has announced it will be shutting down its NFT marketplace in order to focus on upcoming projects. Beginning on November 27, 2024, users will no longer be able to list, bid on or sell NFTs on Kraken’s platform.

They will still be able to withdraw any assets they have stored on the marketplace until the full shutdown on February 27, 2025.

The decision to close the NFT marketplace was made to allocate more resources for new products and services, including undisclosed projects currently in development.

A Kraken spokesperson shared that their team will be helping clients transfer their NFTs to either their Kraken Wallet or a self-custodial wallet of their choosing. Kraken had initially hinted at launching an NFT marketplace in December 2021, which was eventually rolled out in beta form by November 2022.
