British Regulator Bans Pump.fun in UK

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) of the United Kingdom has issued a warning regarding Pump.fun, a memecoin generator platform that is not authorized to operate in the country.

The notice, released on December 3, cautions that Pump.fun may be offering financial services without proper authorization in the UK.

It also states that customers who engage with Pump.fun will not have access to consumer protections like the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

The FCA strongly advises against dealing with Pump.fun and urges people to beware of potential scams. While Pump.fun’s terms of service list several restricted countries, the UK is not among them.

However, the platform does specify that users from certain high-risk or sanctioned locations, including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and Russia, are not allowed to use its services. When contacted for comment, Pump.fun did not immediately respond.
