Ukraine to Legalize Crypto in 2025

Ukraine intends to legalize the use of cryptocurrency by the first quarter of 2025, with the implementation of regulations and no tax exemptions.

The proposed legislation, which has been developed in collaboration with the National Bank and the International Monetary Fund, follows a taxation framework similar to that of securities.

The announcement was made by Danylo Hetmantsev, Head of the Ukrainian Parliament Committee for Finances, Tax, and Customs Policy, during the Ekonomichna Pravda-hosted Domestic Investment Opportunities forum.

Hetmantsev stated that the working group is currently finalizing the draft law, with the aim of passing it after the New Year. He further stated that the goal is for the law to be enacted in the first quarter of 2025 in order to fully legalize cryptocurrency.
