Czech Central Bank Could Add Bitcoin as Reserve Asset
Aleš Michl, the Governor of the Czech National Bank (CNB), suggested on Monday that adding Bitcoin to the country’s foreign exchange reserves could be a way to diversify their assets.
This statement reflects the government’s growing interest in cryptocurrency as a potential means of saving. Michl clarified that while he proposed purchasing some Bitcoin, there are no immediate plans to do so.
In an interview with CNN Prima News, Michl shared that he had considered acquiring “a few Bitcoin” to diversify the bank’s holdings. However, he made it clear that this would not be a significant investment. “I only thought about buying a small amount of Bitcoin, not making a major investment,” he stated.
While Michl recognizes the attractiveness of Bitcoin as an asset, he also acknowledges the need for further consideration before taking any action.
