OKX Warns Users Against Fake Plugin for Firefox
Cryptocurrency exchange platform OKX has issued a warning about a concerning OKX browser extension that has been discovered on the Firefox browser plugin store.
The extension includes third-party functionality integrated within the browser interface. While informing users about the issue, the exchange clarified that they have not authorized any Firefox extensions and urged those who may have mistakenly installed the extension to transfer any funds or digital assets from their connected wallets.
OKX also reached out to Firefox to remove the extension in order to protect users. They also cautioned against downloading any OKX-specific software from third parties.
These types of fraudulent browser extensions have been used by criminals to gain access to sensitive information and steal funds. It is a type of phishing scam aimed at stealing cryptocurrency.
