Coinbase Wins Approval to Launch in Argentina

Coinbase has received regulatory approval to launch its services in Argentina, a market where 5 million people use crypto daily.

Recognizing that 87% of Argentinians believe crypto can enhance financial independence, Coinbase aims to empower locals to navigate inflation and financial instability by providing secure and accessible crypto services. Matías Alberti will lead Coinbase’s operations in Argentina, spearheading the company’s expansion in the region.

This move aligns with Coinbase’s global mission to increase economic freedom while prioritizing security, regulatory compliance, and user education.

The company has obtained a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration from Argentina’s National Securities Commission (CNV), enabling it to operate within the country’s legal framework for virtual assets.

Coinbase will gradually roll out its products over the coming months, enhancing its presence in Argentina through localized services, including Spanish-language support, local payment methods, and dedicated customer support.
