Kraken Resumes Staking Services for US Customers
Kraken has announced the launch of a new staking product exclusively for its US customers. This comes nearly two years after the company faced a lawsuit from regulators for offering a similar service.
A spokesperson from Kraken clarified that the new staking product is different from the one involved in the settlement with the SEC in February 2023.
The exchange is only providing administrative support for staking on the blockchain, by connecting customer tokens to the network. As of today, American customers in 37 states and two territories will have access to this staking service through Kraken Pro.
This allows customers to participate in bonded staking, which involves locking up or bonding their crypto assets to the network for a specific period of time, as explained by the exchange spokesperson.
