Robinhood to Launch in Singapore

Robinhood Markets is gearing up to launch cryptocurrency services in Singapore by 2025, as part of its recent acquisition of the European digital-assets exchange, Bitstamp, according to a media report.

This strategic move is driven partly by Bitstamp’s existing licenses in Singapore and its strong institutional business, Johann Kerbrat, Vice President and General Manager of Robinhood Crypto, revealed in an interview with Bloomberg News.

Last year, Bitstamp announced it had received in-principle approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

While a specific launch date for the Singapore expansion has not been set, Kerbrat anticipates it will take place a few months following the closure of the Bitstamp transaction, which is expected to finalize in the first half of this year.
