SEC Closes Investigation into Crypto.com

Crypto.com announced that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has concluded its investigation into the exchange, marking it as the latest crypto firm to see its probe end.

In a Thursday statement, Crypto.com confirmed that the SEC will not pursue any enforcement action against the company. The SEC has not yet commented on the matter.

Nick Lundgren, Chief Legal Officer of Crypto.com, stated that the SEC under the previous administration attempted to misuse its power against an industry the former chair disfavored. He noted the unfortunate necessity of enduring a lengthy investigation and filing a lawsuit to uphold the rule of law.

Recently, the SEC has dismissed multiple investigations and lawsuits involving crypto firms, including Kraken and Coinbase. Earlier this month, the agency also decided to drop its appeal in the case against Ripple.
