Aurora FS Web3Tube Phase 3 Airdrop Event Roundup

Aurora FS Web3Tube Phase 3 Airdrop Event Roundup

The AuroraFS decentralized network recently brought most elements of the variety of contests and campaigns surrounding the live public implementation of its Web3Tube decentralized video storage and sharing platform to an end. Contests and campaigns focused on unique likes and views gained by content creators who joined the expansive file system to compete for their share of AUFS token airdrops.

Another contest centered around the fundamental resource cultivated by the decentralized P2P cloud storage and streaming network also came to an end after adjustments had to be made due to an influx in popularity of the platform and campaigns. Broadband mining specifications were moved from 100 to 200 miners in order to accomodate more individuals in providing bandwidth to the AuroraFS network in exchange for future AUFS tokens.

Details about contests and results

In the broadband mining campaign miners were not required to stake due to the non-availability of AUFS tokens, and also just as much, to encourage maximum levels of unique participation. 1,000 AUFS tokens were allocated to be distributed later to winners who competed in rounds 7 days each in length, much like the other competitions in the AUFS future token airdrop contests. The contests kicked off on the 27th of March officially for the entire series. Each of the contests required new users to first download the latest version of AuroraFS network.

The first contests to go live were primarily relevant to content creators and viewers. Subscribers and likes were the first of all AuroraFS campaigns to go live. In the subscriber contest, new subscribers were measured and the top 300 creators were ranked to receive an allocation between 5-80 AUFS per round for their efforts, over 4 rounds of competition. Video likes were measured in another content creator-focused contest. In that particular competition 1,000 Web3Tube users were ranked to determine their portion of rewards to be received in future AUFS airdropped token allocations. Rewards were set at 1-30 tokens to the top 1,000 users who competed over 7 short rounds lasting 2 days each. Both creator-focused contests drew significant traffic and participation to the AuroraFS network. So much so that a new metric was started.

Updated contest with a new campaign

The activity on the AuroraFS was so interesting that the network decided to launch a new contest just days ago. Flow energy was a new metric introduced to the AuroraFS community. Flow energy campaign measures the amount of viewer watch time associated with each node on the AuroraFS network. The greater the amount of bandwidth accounted for in view time for each particular node, the more flow energy will be represented by that node.

The flow energy competition will see top 500 users on the AuroraFS network receive 1-5 AUFS tokens per seven-day round. The newly announced flow energy campaign will run until the end is announced at least three days prior to whenever that is determined. This campaign was designed to encourage ongoing participation by new users who come to discover the AuroraFS decentralized network.

Contests wrap-up and next steps for AUFS

The various AuroraFS contests were seen as a success from the sentiment of the AuroraFS community. More room had to be made, and additional changes as well, in order to accommodate the heavier draw to the campaigns that went on for the last month. A new competition arose during the contests, and is still ongoing, with new parameters to measure and newly identified key activity points to capture in the scheme of the network design.

Further competitions could be expected now that the network is being implemented publicly through the use of incentivized rewards-based contests and campaigns. In addition to this the official full public launch of Web3Tube by AuroraFS is also expected to be announced in the very near future. The AuroraFS network full mainnet launch is planned for an undisclosed date in the coming Q3, and will accompany the AUFS token launch with more details to be disclosed as the time draws nearer.

News and information going forward

Information relevant to the AuroraFS network, including news updates and future plans, can be obtained through the AuroraFS social channels, and closest to real-time, through engagement or somewhat frequent monitoring of the AuroraFS telegram community channel.

For now, the success of the Web3Tube and AUFS non-staking mining competitions have proven to be effective, and help to move the advanced decentralized file system and content network further along in their plans for full on public implementation soon.
